Opportunities to Shine

I needed Wednesday. In fact, I need more days like Wednesday.

There’s something about seeing our school come together for something greater than ourselves. We’ve had a few big moments this year where we've showed up as one (the girls basketball state championship game comes to mind), but nothing will beat Wednesday. Nothing. It’s a day I’ll always remember.

When given the opportunity, we rise to the occasion. It’s what we do.

Our school needed Wednesday. In fact, we need more days like Wednesday.

Shout-Outs

  • This week’s athletic awards chapel was well-organized and was a special way to honor some of our top senior athletes. A big thanks goes to Hayden Cruce and all of our coaches for presenting and honoring our athletes.

  • Wednesday was an all-hands-on-deck day, and all the hands were on deck. Thank you to everyone for making Wednesday such a special day for our school.

  • Next week Ashley Jamison’s Spanish II students will be presenting their drama productions. Students have worked together to write scripts and build sets for their Spanish performances of familiar tales (like Jack and the Beanstalk, for instance). This project has certainly stretched and pushed our students, and I encourage you to attend some of the performances next week. Way to go, Ms. Jamison.

  • This. Well done, Coach Spencer, Coach Smith, and Mr. Thomas. Well done.
